Timex 400 6084 7061 [1961]

Year: 1961
Reference: 6084 7061
Model: Timex 400 Series
Movement: m70 (17 Jewel Seiko-Hatori)
Case: Gold plated over base metal
Complication: Jeweled manual wind movement

Timex 400 series are some of the most sought after vintage watches. They differ from other typical Timex of their era in that they do not house one of Timex in-house movements. Instead this model contains a Seiko-Hatori movement which is arguably a better caliber than the mostly non-jeweled pin and plate movements used in most Timex.

Timex 400 watches are notorious for suffering dial damage either on the edge or around the center of the dial. Collectors should try and find unspoiled dials where possible.

The case is gold plated and houses a domed acrylic crystal. The dial is white with alternating arabic and stick markers embossed in gold. The edge of the dial has a printed seconds track and lume pips every 5 seconds. The hands are simple and gold. Printed on the dial are the words TIMEX, 400 and 17 jewel

Hi, My name is Mark Rushworth AKA Timetrope on Social Media. Ive been collecting Timex watches for a little over three years. From day one the community of collectors have been very patient and generous for the most part which has kept my interest and engagement in the hobby.

'Ive set up this website partly as a way of cataloging my collection and its many gaps, and as a way of paying forwards the kindness offered to me by Knut, Ian and others (you know who you are).
