1917 2464 Red Timex Key Ring Tire Watch 1964

Produced between 1961 and 1968 in the US and up to 1969 in the UK, the Timex key ring watch was a curio that took time telling from your wrist and placed it into your pockey. Ideal for the working man who might be concerned that a wrist worn watch might get easily broken, these key ring watches are surrounded by a durable rubber tire (tyre in the UK). THis gives the se watches a distinctive look. The colour of tyres vary with white, black and red versions being available (there may be others). The weatch its self is designed around a mercury mode. placed in a small plain metal lugless case. A long stem attached to a crown protrudes up through the tyre and out of the top giving this piece an odd pocket watch feel with a modern twist.
I am lucky enough to have found one model mint in box whish shows the key chain and clasp. Finding models that have this intact is the goal for any collector.
