In 1968 Timex released a set of Fun Timer watches. Unique to these watches was the use of an all plastic case which was available in 5 different colors red, white, green, blue and pink. These 1 piece cases were not seen again until the release of the Timex Military watch and later the highly desirable Camper series of watches.

This watch has a green case and dial. The case has fixed lugs, meaning no spring bars. This meant that these watches could not be attached to conventional watch bands. Instead a colored Bund strap was used which added to the watches durable look and field.

The dial has a marbled, sometimes called a constellation, effect on it with White roman numerals printed at 12 3 6 & 9. In between are simple printed stick markers in white. The word TIMEX is printed in white at the top of the dial.

This watch is a front-loader and requires the crystal to be taken off to access the dial and movement underneath. Annoyingly the previous owner could not figure out how to detach the crown to remove the assembly. You can see their solution was to cut the case above the crown leading an unsightly gap.

These watches were sold in a ladies Cavatina box leading me to believe they were intended to be woman’s or girls watches.

Hi, My name is Mark Rushworth AKA Timetrope on Social Media. Ive been collecting Timex watches for a little over three years. From day one the community of collectors have been very patient and generous for the most part which has kept my interest and engagement in the hobby.

'Ive set up this website partly as a way of cataloging my collection and its many gaps, and as a way of paying forwards the kindness offered to me by Knut, Ian and others (you know who you are).
