Timex Marlin 1954 Ref. WCRSM

Brand: Timex
Model: Timex Marlin
Reference: WCRSM
Caliber: M21 (Manual Wind)
Year: 1954
Case: Gold plated base metal
Dial markings: Waterproof

Up until this model, the only early Timex marlin watches in my collection had straight sword style hands. This model has lumed leaf hands making it an oddity on my collection. Aside from that detail this Timex Marlin has a gold plated case, steel case back and a 16mm lug width. The dial is 2 tone with a cream, potentially sun damaged inner circle, and a white outer minutes track. The markers are arabic and lumed. Printed on the dial in black is the word TIMEX, in red WATERPROOF.

There are alternative versions of this watch which are identifiable by deciphering the reference:
W – Waterproof
C – Chrome plated case
G – Gold plated case
S- Sweeping Seconds Hand
R – Radiolite Lume (Radio-active)

Hi, My name is Mark Rushworth AKA Timetrope on Social Media. Ive been collecting Timex watches for a little over three years. From day one the community of collectors have been very patient and generous for the most part which has kept my interest and engagement in the hobby.

'Ive set up this website partly as a way of cataloging my collection and its many gaps, and as a way of paying forwards the kindness offered to me by Knut, Ian and others (you know who you are).
