This vintage Timex Q watch was manufactured in 1977, one year after the Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics. As the dial features the USA’s olympic shield logo we can assume this was an early production or reuse of a stock watch produced for the later 1980 USA Olympic games.
This watch has a chrome plated case and uses a hidden lug design. The case has a sunburst brushed pattern on the surface. The crystal is domed acrylic. The dial is silver with embossed chromed stick markings and a printed seconds track. Also embossed are the words Q, TIMEX and QUARTZ. Printed at the bottom of the dial is the word TAIWAN which identifies the place of manufacture. To the left of the center point is a shield design containing the Olympic rings and red stripes in the USA Olympic shield. This Olympic Timex Q has a day date complication with these windows having a black printed border. The hands are chromed stick hands.
