Emerson Fittipaldi
Produced by Timex in 1975 to celebrate the world championship win for F1 driver Emerson Fittipaldi, these watches were rumored to only have had 500 made for the Brazilian market. The mechanical version is often sold as having a more readily available dive style elapsed time bezel, where as the versions shown in adverts and other marketing materials have the tachometer bezel which is how i restored mine.
Take everything you hear about a Timex Emerson Fittipaldi watch with a pinch of salt as no-one really knows its true story.
Timex Emerson Fittipaldi Watch
When most people talk about the Timex Emerson Fittipaldi watch, that they are referring to is a rally style sports watch produced in 1975 that had additional text on the dial celebrating his second win at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Ive been lucky enough to own 2 of these pieces, gifting one of them to @thetimexking as a thank you for all the help and support hes provided over the years.
Timex Emerson Fittipaldi Electric Watch
By far the hardest version to find was the Electric version shown here without a bezel. As i have never handled one i do not know if this watch even had a bezel.
Update – there’s a second image of this dial but in a different case. I assume Timex did not produce different cased styles of a watch in such a short time frame so which one was the production version?
Timex Emerson Fittipaldi Q Quartz Watch
The third watch produced was a Q Quartz watch. This was by far the largest of the 3 produced and is the second hardest one to find. Acquired Dec 2023!
