Timex Snoopy Watch
In 1976 Timex launched a range of character watches based on the Peanuts cartoon. The most popular of these was the Timex Snoopy watch range. Timex’s vintage Snoopy watches were sold until 1985.
Update: Timex has recently started reissuing Snoopy themed watches, making larger versions of vintage watch designs with updated movements.
Petite Timex Snoopy Watch
A set of 2 small kids/ladies vintage Timex Snoopy watches, but replacing standard hour and minute hands with Snoopy’s arms. This tells the time in a fun and interesting manner and would likely be more appealing. In 1984 the petite models changed the case design and reversed the black markers into white. In addition a new design was introduced in that showed Snoopy asleep on top of his dog house.
Sprite Timex Snoopy Watch
For the sprite sized snoopy watches, Timex introduced a mystery dial component, replacing the sweeping seconds hand with a disc containing a replacement illustrated marker. This required a deeper faceted crystal.
Yellow Timex Snoopy Tennis Watch
The sprite sized Timex Snoopy tennis watch puts a tennis racket in Snoopy’s hands. The sweeping seconds hand is replaced by a tennis ball giving the effect of snoopy playing tennis on the dial.
Snoopy and Woodstock
The second design in the sprite sized range depicts Snoopy dancing with Woodstock with Woodstock acting as the mystery dial component, replacing the sweeping seconds hand.
Snoopy Flying Ace
Timex produced a sports watch featuring one of Snoopy’s daydream personas, the Flying Ace. In the cartoon the flying ace takes to the sky to battle the devious Red Barron. Similarly this watch depicts snoopy straddling his dog house aircraft and the Red Barron and clouds acting as the mystery dial component.
Mercury Timex Snoopy
The larger mercury sized Timex Snoopy watches continued the use of the mystery dial and were available in 2 sizes.
Red Snoopy Tennis Watch
This medium sized watch depicts Snoopy holding a tennis racket while a tennis ball rotates around the dial.
Snoopy Denim Tennis Watch
The largest of the vintage Timex Snoopy watches mixes a gold plated case with a denim printed dial and denim watch band. Again Snoopy is playing tennis on the dial.
The 1983 LCD Snoopy Watch
In 1983 Timex introduced 2 LCD watches featuring snoopy on the dial. As with previous watches, these came in colorful cases.
Snoopy Space Traveler
In 2019 Timex launched a variation on the recently re-released Timex Marlin, this time featuring a discreet black on white illustration of Snoopy in a space suit.
Timex X Space
The theme of Snoopy and space continued later into 2019 with the release of the Timex X Space range which was made up of 6 watches spanning some of Timex’s current quartz ranges.
